The Chihuahua Pomeranian Mix Breed Dog

What could be cuter than a mixture between a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian? I can’t think of too many dogs that would make such a cute combination and in fact this mix is quite popular.

The Chihuahua Pomeranian mix dog is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club under the name of the “Chiranian” and even as its own club called the Pomchi Club Of America.

These little dogs we between five and 12 pounds and are short with rounded wedge-shaped heads and round, dark eyes. They have fluffy tails that can be held upright and fold it over the back or flat. they have an alert, intelligent expression and her loving wonderful pets.

The Chihuahua Pomeranian mix can come from a mixture of the Pomeranian into Chihuahua or can be the product of two Pomchi‘s, making it a second generation hybrid. While Pomeranians are long-haired, Chihuahuas can either be long or short haired and the Pomchi can be either long-haired, shorthaired it can have a single code or double coat like the Pomeranian. They come in any color variation like their parents and can be solid, parti colored, sable, or merle.

Typically, these dogs will have much the same personality traits that you will find in a Pomeranian or a Chihuahua. These dogs are intelligent and alert and very sweet pets. While they are quite easy to train to do tricks and obedience, they may be difficult to housebreak. Being sensitive little dogs they will need positive reinforcement and should not be punished or subjected to harsh treatment.

Grooming a Pomchi with long hair will take more time than a shorthaired dog. You probably need to do a sani cut under the tail and keep the air in between the paw pads trimmed otherwise your poor dog will be slipping on the floor.

No matter how long the hair Is on your dog, you’ll need to be sure that you keep the area around his eyes clean so that he doesn’t get tear stains on us for more buildup of goop. Also, be sure he has a good dental program as both Pomeranians and Chihuahuas can be prone to tooth decay and the bacteria buildup can be very harmful to their health.

A Chihuahua Pomeranian mixed breed dog can make a wonderful little pet that will entertain you with his lively antics and warm your heart with his loving disposition.
